Job overview

·         Provides high quality clinical care to patients, in line with the trust values and in accordance with professional regulations.

·         Accepts delegated responsibility from the Nurse in Charge, for the care of a specific group of patients. Works in line with trust policies, objectives, protocols and local guidelines and in accordance with NMC regulations

·         Works as part of a team to provide high quality, evidence based clinical care to patients and their carers.

·         Communicates in accordance with trust values at all times with patients, carers and other staff members.

·         Undertakes opportunities to develop and expand their nursing skills, acting as a supervisor for Nurse Associates in training, Health Care Support Workers or Nursing students.

·         Maintains high standards of professional responsibility and accountability and have an awareness of the ethical and medico-legal aspects of nursing in line with NMC regulations and local guidance.

Working for our organisation

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.

Essential criteria
  • Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification
  • Registered Nursing associate on NMC register
  • GCSE grade A-C English and Maths or Level 2 in Maths and English
  • Completion of end point assessment for those taking the apprenticeship route to training
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of involvement in the support/development of less experienced staff
  • Understanding the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and multidisciplinary team within the organisation and how the role may contribute to service development.
  • Evidence of recent work based learning or self-directed learning
