Job overview

Outpatient service is a busy and friendly place to work, this post is based at The Hillingdon Hospital Outpatients department but the successful candidate will be expected to work at Mount Vernon Outpatients as required. Our local patient surveys and friends and family test praise our staff as being caring, professional and welcoming. Outpatients department delivers care to a wide range of patients who are seen in clinics that includes all areas of medical and surgical specialities within a hospital setting. Our focus is on providing an exceptional patient experience, delivering excellent customer care to patients and their families, we aim to see patients within half an hour of their appointment time and if this is not possible then clinic staff have to communicate any delays to patients to lessen their anxieties. Working with us also offers opportunities to develop skills in customer care, working with a multi-disciplinary team, multi –cultural patient group and offers training in relevant clinical skills and IT systems. Successful applicants must have the following (list top 3 or 4 essential criteria)


• Experience in Outpatients setting.
• Experience in a care/ hospital setting
• Experience in a role that delivers a high standard of Customer care.
• Confident in using Microsoft office.


Main duties of the job

The Healthcare support worker is a member of the Outpatients nursing team involved in clinical and non-clinical duties in the Outpatients Department.

The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the smooth running of outpatient’s clinics.

 Will support the health care professional in caring for patients and relatives who visit the department.

Assist health care professionals in the treatment provided to patients during outpatient clinics by working effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team.
