CAMH Practitioner (T&P)
Band 6
West London NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.
We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Mental Health Nurse to join the Hounslow Mental Health Support Team (MHST). As part of an innovative schools-based early intervention service, you will work directly with children, young people, families and education staff to improve emotional wellbeing and mental health outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to deliver evidence-based group interventions, contribute to whole school mental health initiatives, provide consultation and training, and support the development of psychologically informed school environments. We are looking for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about child and adolescent mental health, values collaborative working, and is committed to making a meaningful difference within school communities
Main duties of the job
You will work across educational settings in Hounslow to support children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties and behaviours that challenge. You will undertake assessments, formulate care plans, deliver evidence-based interventions, and support young people and families to achieve positive outcomes.
The role includes delivering group-based interventions, facilitating workshops and training for school staff, parents and carers, contributing to consultation meetings with school link workers, and supporting the implementation of a Whole School Approach to Mental Health. You will work collaboratively with schools, health and social care colleagues, participate in outcome monitoring and service development activities, and contribute to creating psychologically informed environments that promote wellbeing and resilience across school communities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about early intervention, enjoys collaborative working, and is motivated to make a lasting difference to the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.
