Job overview
The postholder will be responsible to the PFI Manager and assist in the contract monitoring of all PFI contracts across the Trust property portfolio. The role will involve the monitoring and utilisation of a range of PFI contracts and reporting tools to ensure the PFI contracted estate are delivering our services in line with statutory requirements, HTM’s, HBN’s, ACOPs and industry best practice.
There will also be a requirement to take a significant role in monitoring and reporting on departmental outputs that feed into various assurance groups at local and board level. This will include monitoring and reporting on agreed key performance indicators (KPIs).
The post holder will communicate at all levels of the Organisation including Matrons, Ward Managers, Infection Control and Patient Groups via regular reports, e-mail, face to face and formal presentations of monitoring outcomes.
It is essential that the successful candidate can manage a fluid and challenging workload where priorities can change regularly throughout the working day.
The role is central to ensuring that the Estates & Facilities contracts are provided in line with statutory and mandatory compliance, contract specifications, terms and conditions, provide value for money and Key Performance Indicators.
Main duties of the job
· Supporting the PFI Manager and the Operational Estates team in relation to monitoring PFI contracts.
· In particular, to ensure that the PFI contracts are compliant with contract specifications, including Pre Planned Maintenance regimes and statutory and mandatory obligations and other regulatory requirements.
· Responsible for recording all material changes to the contract.
· Support the development of Service Variations in accordance to financial thresholds set down in the Trust’s Standing Financial Instructions.
· Liaise with User Departments at all levels of staff in the monitoring of PFI contracts, in particular Matrons, Ward Managers, Infection Control and Patient Groups.
· To have a good knowledge of appropriate software such as Excel, Powerpoint, and microsoft programmes for the collation and interpretation of data. To produce detailed spreadsheets and databases. To contribute to the development of monitoring systems and documentation.
· Have a working knowledge of Health and Safety, Water regulations, Fire Regulations and other relevant legislation in relation to Health premises.

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period.
NELFT place great importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 p.a. pro rata for part time).
