Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Rhinology and Anterior Skullbase. The post holder will be expected to work at Kingston Hospital and St Georges Hospital
The ENT clinic at Kingston Hospital is one of very few in the country equipped with the latest ultrasound machines, and the successful applicant will have the ability to learn and perform ultrasound as part of an enhanced clinical assessment or diagnostic intervention. Cone Beam CT scanning is also available onsite.
Main duties of the job
The post holder would be expected to Provide advice and treatment Help develop the service in accordance with Trust policy. Teach train and supervise postgraduates trainees as appropriate. Demonstrate professional excellence and efficient delivery of care in accordance with clinical case load associated with the post.

The Trust employs over 6500 staff incorporating 675 Medical & Dental Staff. It provides general acute services together with specialty services including neurosciences, cardiothoracic, and specialist childrens services. A merger with Community Services Wandsworth took place in October 2010 providing integrated services in many areas. St George’s Hospital is the main teaching hospital in the western sector of the South Thames, and as such has developed links with most district general hospitals throughout South Thames West, and supports a significant training programme for junior doctors who rotate through the Trust.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To cover the following duties:
1. To undertake outpatient clinics and Surgical lists at Kingston Hospital, St Georges Hospital and other clinics in the community as required
2. To review inpatients at Kingston Hospital and St Georges Hospital
3. To support the delivery of the rhinology pathway against best practice standards and peer review assessments.
4. To work with the Head of Service and service-line managers to ensure the provision of high quality, effective care which meets operational standards.
5. To support the educational and training, medical/clinical audit, clinical risk management, clinical governance and management activities of the service-line.
Appropriate mentoring of the new consultant will be provided within the team.
JD is with the Royal College for review.
AAC provisional date is in January 2026.
Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MRCS
- Full GMC Registration with License to Practice (or eligibility to obtain).
- FRCS or equivalent
- CCT in Specialty and on GMC’s Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT from the date of the interview or have confirmed eligibility for Specialist Registration.
Desirable criteria
- Appropriate higher degree (e.g. MD, PhD or equivalent)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Post SpR clinical fellowship experience in Rhinology
- Experience in complex rhinology surgery
- Evidence of continuing medical education (existing consultants must demonstrate active participation in CPD)
Applicant requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
