We are looking for a qualified practitioner psychologist (Clinical/Counselling/Forensic) that is an enthusiastic, friendly, team player to work in a pilot Transitions to Adulthood community hub service.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with young people aged 18-25 in a new and innovative pilot ‘Transitions to Adulthood, Wellbeing Service’. Commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), this service brings together East London NHS Foundation Trust, as a member of the London Pathways Partnership (LPP), with voluntary sector partners, to develop creative approaches to engaging young people on probation in Newham.
The hub, co-located within Newham Probation, provides wrap-around support tailored to the distinct needs of young adults, including an understanding of maturity, in order to reduce re-offending, improve mental health and support young adults to make positive life choices. The service delivers therapeutic, psychological and psychiatric interventions to young adults and will embed psychologically informed practice across the hub, with an emphasis on trauma informed care.
As young black and Muslim men and women are significantly represented in the hub, our staff require a high level of cultural competence and sensitivity to issues relevant to young minoritised groups. We therefore hope to recruit a staff team reflective of our service user population and welcome applications from those with protected characteristics.
