Trosolwg o'r swydd

The post holder will work within the Occupational Therapy (OT) teams in WCH to support the continuous professional development, education and progression of  OT staff.  They will identify learning needs, plan and implement any training required and continuously evaluate staff competence ensuring that development is aligned to and informs local and national priorities.

 The practice development OT will to drive developments in OT practice to improve safe patient care,  support  education, training and development strategies through the delivery of relevant programmes across the hospital, support induction, preceptorship and guidance for individuals who require performance related assistance. They will also to be responsible for supporting changes in practice based on evidence, research, audit findings and best practice, which improve and impact positively on patient outcomes and key performance indicators.

  •  Lead development of clinical OT practice at WCH, providing supervision aligned with patient needs.
  • Support staff competency through training, guidance, and objective setting individually and in groups.
  • Ensure high-quality learning and development opportunities for all clinical staff, promoting safe and effective patient care.
  • Identify themes from the Integrated Discharge Hub (IDH) to inform staff learning and development.
  • Develop and implement the OT practice development framework and strategy, coordinating training, meetings, and working groups with therapy leads.
  • Support OT and MDT Quality Improvement (QI) projects to enhance patient care and service delivery.
  • Promote high standards of care by demonstrating clinical expertise and fostering professional development.
  • Manage a comprehensive OT training program to improve patient outcomes and staff retention.
  • Provide specialist advice, teaching, and training to MDT and multi-agency colleagues, challenging or adapting treatment plans when necessary.
  • Apply clinical governance and risk management principles; act as a trained risk assessor.
  • Participate in seven-day service delivery as part of the rota.

  • HCPC registration
  • Supervision Training or equivalent experience
  • Practice educator course

  • Member of the British Association of Occupational Therapy
  • Post graduate formal qualification relevant to clinical speciality (clinical supervision/ practice development)

Experience

  • Experience of managing and providing clinical supervision to staff, students and assistants and developing their practice
  • Implementing service improvement plans and participation in change projects.
  • Provision of teaching and learning of staff, students and support worker
  • Recent extensive acute clinical experience in a variety of specialties
  • Evidence of conducting training sessions in a range of settings and specialties.
