Compliance Officer -Premises Assurance Model (PAM)

Trosolwg o'r swydd

The post holder will be responsible for the systematic identification, recording, evaluation of risks arising from non-compliance with statutory legislation relating to buildings, plant, services and equipment and implementation of maintenance regimes to minimise the Trust exposure to those risks and identified within the Parameters of the Premises Assurance Model (PAM)

This would include interpretation of the current and any new legislative changes including the development of Technical and Health and Safety Policies and Procedures within the Estates Environment

 

To facilitate and co-ordinate the work necessary for external assessments by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and other external bodies such as the CQC/NHS England and make the annual submission on evidence-based documentation.

Qualifications

  • Management of Asbestos in Buildings (BOHS P405)
  • Management of Water Hygiene /Safe Water Systems
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (certificate) or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of HVAC mechanical & electrical installations.

Experience

  • Extensive experience of hospitals or other building related services plant & equipment maintenance.
  • Previous submissions for PAM for other Healthcare Providers
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety Legislation related to building equipment and services (Mechanical and Electrical Services).
  • Experience of Estates maintenance management experience in a similar environment.

  • Proficient at DATIX and Powerpoint software
  • Experience of initiating, conducting and evaluating risk assessments

Knowledge

  • Good technical understanding and proven practical application of Building and Engineering legislation
  • Good practicable understanding of current health and safety legislation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of guidance issued by NHS Estates for design and maintenance of hospitals.

Skills

  • Ability to provide expert advice to clinicians etc on a wide range of Estates management issues.
  • Ability to enforce safe working practices along with comprehensive knowledge of H&S legislation affecting building and engineering process.
  • Excellent verbal, communication and written skills.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and proactive individual
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to manage various tasks and work under pressure to very tight deadlines.
  • Good negotiation skills
