Clinical Research Fellow – Dermatology
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Research Fellow in Dermatology to join the dermatology research team at Barts Health NHS Trust (0.5 Research and 0.5 Dermatology). This is an ideal opportunity for an individual wishing to further their clinical and research experience in dermatology.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to work closely with the consultant dermatologist and dermatology research teams within the Barts Health NHS Trust.
The successful candidate must; have a medical degree, MRCP and preferably relevant clinical research experience, be a good communicator and have exceptional organisation skills. Attention to detail and the ability to work both as part of a team autonomously is essential.

The post is based at the Whipps Cross Hospital but the post holder is expected to travel to other hospital sites within Barts Health NHS Trust.

- Work experience in the NHS of dermatology assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary
- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
- Experience of working within a dermatology setting
- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision
- Research interest in dermatology

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of the theory and practice of basic dermatology therapies in specific difficult to treat groups (e.g. dual diagnoses, people with additional disabilities etc).
- Basic level knowledge of the theory and practice of clinical cutaneous research.
- Demonstrate the potential to conduct/present research and publish in professional journals
- Ability to manage and co-ordinate clinical staff, for whom post holder does not have managerial responsibility.
- Able to deliver training to cancer multi-disciplinary staff members, many of whom are non-clinical
- Outcome of project will help shape and inform future policy development around MDT appraisals for the Trust and nationally.
