The Royal London Hospital is one of Europe’s largest major trauma centres, and is nationally and internationally recognised for its work in advancing trauma care. On the  neurosurgical ward you will become part of a team who thrives in cutting edge surgery and innovation.

As a staff Nurse for the neurosurgical, ENT/Max-Fax Ward, you will be central to the care being provided to our patients, helping to further develop our excellent ward  in line with the changing needs of the services.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking dedicated and dynamic band 5 nurses to be part of our team and to assist us in delivering safe and compassionate care to all our patients. You will be working as part of a friendly and supportive team within Neurosciences and the Emergency Care & Trauma Division at the Royal London.

We welcome and support newly qualified nurses, they will be given a preceptor and opportunity to work alongside the practice development nurse on the ward.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To provide the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.

To ensure patients are checked in for surgery and to liaise with the bed capacity managers to ensure patients are mapped against beds post operatively.

To lead and ensure patients are brought in via the afternoon drop in clinic

To supervise and teach junior members of staff and learners as required, and maintain own personal development with support.

To provide high quality nursing care to patients and their families, in accordance with agreed policies.
