Crisis Resolution Team Band 6 Clinical Specialists

We are seeking proactive, dynamic and skilled staff (RMN or OT ) to be appointed as Band 6 Clinical Specialists to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary Crisis Resolution Team.

We are a 24 hours service, 365 days per year intensive crisis assessment and home treatment service providing mental health crisis care to our local adult residents in the vibrant and diverse boroughs of Camden and Islington.

This is an exciting time to join  Islington Crisis Resolution Team, accredited by HTAS (Home Treatment Accreditation Scheme).  Always seeking to innovate and develop,  we work closely with a 3rd sector crisis house and local crisis café,  have recently embedded peer support workers in our CRT and  are involved in a number of quality improvement projects.

Working as a Band 6 clinical specialist in the CRT will help you develop strong leadership skills, autonomous decision making, and dynamic risk assessment skills. You will have the opportunity to work across 4 different aspects of the crisis pathway that the service delivers which includes:

Crisis –Single Point of Access

A 24/7 busy telephone service offering support for people in crisis as well as triaging referrals from professionals and the general public to the crisis teams.


Undertaking holistic assessments of people in crisis and deciding on collaborative treatment plans as an alternative to acute inpatient care or signposting to appropriate other community or third sector services.

Home Treatment Team

Working as part of a close-knit team to deliver high-quality person-centred care in the least restrictive setting. You will be using and offered training around the use of CBT/DBT, de-escalation techniques, managing risks,  brief supportive counselling skills to work towards shared treatment goals with the service user within their social system.

Night Crisis Service

Our crisis service provision at night combines aspects of all 3 services to assess and support people in crisis during night time hours. Currently, the expectation is for the post holder to work approximately 2-night shifts per month.

We have a high rate of positive feedback from our Friends and Family Tests and have a proven track record of current staff career progression.

Training and opportunities we have on offer include:
