Camden Memory Service is looking for a new Team Manager to provide the leadership and management to our successful service model which provides high quality, timely diagnostic assessment services alongside a post diagnostic support offer from diagnosis to end of life. 

We are seeking to recruit a team manager who shares our passion to strive towards excellence in older adult care, with a passion for Dementia, a keen interest in service development and quality improvement, leading on local developments and across wider partnership with focus on performance  and maintenance of our trust values where staff and service users feel safe, valued and empowered. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead and manage the multi-disciplinary Memory Service. They will be responsible for ensuring that the team understands and operates to the requirements of the service line operational policy and service line strategy and that safe, evidence based, effective, culturally competent care is delivered in a timely manner to service users and carers.

Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) provides high quality, safe and innovative mental health care to our patients in the community, in their homes or in hospital. We provide services for adults of working age, adults with learning difficulties, and older people in the London area.

We currently deliver the majority of our care to residents in the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington. However, we also provide substance misuse services in Westminster, and a substance misuse and psychological therapies service to people living in Kingston. Our trust is also a member of University College London Partners (UCLP), one of the world’s leading academic health science partnerships. In addition we have specialist programmes which provide help and treatment for: veterans living in London, young people caught in the cycle of gang culture, older people living with dementia and other age related mental health conditions. Essential criteria
  • Relevant professional qualification for role e.g. RMN
  • Education at GCSE A-C or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of additional education/learning around Dementia care

Work experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of working within Memory Service
  • Experience of undertaking diagnostic assessment
  • Experience of undertaking Post Diagnostic dementia interventions
  • Experience of working with carers for those living with Dementia
Desirable criteria
  • Working at senior level within Memory Service

Management experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of supervising staff
  • Experience of managing change processes
  • Experience of working with external stakeholders e.g. ASC
  • Evidence of use of Quality Improvement within work
  • Evidence of leadership role within multidisciplinary team
