Do you have a passion for emergency preparedness and resilience? Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Emergency Preparedness professional to join us as the Emergency Preparedness Resilience & Response (EPRR) Officer.
The post holder will report to and support the Head of EPRR, Patient & Staff Logistics in ensuring CLCH NHS Trust is compliant with its responsibilities defined in the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (CCA). The post holder will provide the professional emergency planning expertise to the Trust's emergency preparedness, resilience, and response agenda.
You will ensure compliance with relevant legislation and maintain robust incident and business continuity plans, and will help guide strategic decisions and drive improvements in our emergency preparedness and resilience capabilities.
You will also have a Diploma in Health Emergency Planning (or will be willing to work towards one) and expertise in emergency planning and business continuity management. You should have good organisational and communication skills, and the ability to influence and motivate at all levels. You will also engage effectively and work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external multi-agency stakeholders and partners.
You will ensure that EPRR risks are proactively managed and that learning from incidents is implemented and embedded across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring the Trust's statutory obligations under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 are met
Representing the Trust at Multi agency meetings and events
Developing and implementing long term emergency preparedness plans
Participating in an on-call rota and recognising trends in on-call alerts
Co-ordinating and facilitating exercise and training programmes
Reporting and other administration tasks

Essential criteria
- Educated to degree / Post Graduate level or equivalent, plus further short courses, theoretical study and on the job training and experience or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Project management qualification (eg. Prince2) or equivalent
- Diploma in Health Emergency Planning) or equivalent
- Trained Loggist
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in a healthcare organisation
- Demonstrable experience of planning complex areas of work
- Experience of managing projects
- Experience of working with a broad range of multi-agency partners and establishing effective working relationships across boundaries
- Experience of supporting incident management teams in responding to actual emergencies
- Experience of managing competing priorities and demands
- Experience of developing and implementing administration systems and processes
- Demonstrable experience of using own initiative to achieve required outcomes
- Experience of delivering training to multi-disciplinary teams
Desirable criteria
- Practical experience of integrated emergency management activities, including: risk assessment, emergency planning, training, practical exercises.
