Are you looking to develop your Physiotherapy skills in inpatient rehabilitation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering client centered evidence based care at Finchley Memorial Hospital, Edgware Community Hospital,  and East Barnet Health Centre, 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and innovative multi-disciplinary team.

You will have a role developing your Physiotherapy practice and deliver evidence based rehabilitation and assessments for clients within community hospitals.

Main duties of the job

You will be given the opportunity to build and maintain key relationships with acute and community referrers to the services as well as partners in the community, across CLCH,  including the Community Therapy and Falls Prevention Service, Stroke and Rehabilitation Units, Parkinson’s Unit, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases team, Learning Disabilities, Wheelchair services and Musculoskeletal Outpatient services.

This post will be responsible for the supervision of junior staff, rehabilitation assistants and students, participate in any audit or development being undertaken by the service.

The post is supported by Highly Specialist Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist Team leads, and Clinical Therapy Lead.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To undertake a variety of rotations (orthopaedics, respiratory and acute assessment ward, stroke/ elderly/ neuro rehabilitation wards, Musculo-Skeletal Outpatients, Community Therapy Team) in order to  provide a broad base for both personal and professional development.
  • This will involve working in a number of settings including care homes, residential units, patient homes, hospital wards, special schools, mainstream schools, clinics and may involve up to 6 locations at any one time.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Current AHP with UK HCPC registration
  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant post graduate training

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Placements whilst Student, broad range of clinical placements as undergraduate
  • Evidence of up to date CPD
  • Experience of working as part of an MDT
  • Use of functional assessment and activity analysis.
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of previous employment as a Physiotherapist, apprentice, assistant
  • Experience of delegation to support staff

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of current best practice in Physiotherapy, demonstrate clinical reasoning, applying theory to practice
  • Ability to work single-handedly with individuals and groups
  • Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice
