The School Nursing Team is seeking dynamic individuals with a strong public health focus who are fully committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our diverse school aged population. You will be a highly motivated individual with an interest in proactively managing health promotion initiatives. We're recruiting Band 6 School Nurse into an innovative, award winning and growing service. We cover primary, secondary and special needs schools across a wide area with diverse needs. We offer support and mentoring from a great team including national School Nurse of the Year winners. You'll also be able to take on development and mentoring roles to help build your career and support our junior staff and student nurses. Our school nursing service has taken on four new boroughs in the last year and is building a reputation as one of London's strongest teams.

We deliver an excellent public health and child centred model of care, working with children aged 5-19, their families and education teams. We're looking for motivated and innovative school nurses keen to rise to the challenges of helping children.

You must have SCPHN – School Nursing (BSc course) qualification and RGN Registered Nurse (Adult or Paediatric).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To provide a skilled, effective and evidence based service to children and young people within schools and community settings.
To act as a named school nurse for a cluster of nominated schools, applying specialist skills and knowledge in the delivery of the school health service
To develop an overview of the profiled health needs of the defined population alerting the Team Lead where any service gaps are identified.
To identify, prioritise and implement programmes of care that meet the public health needs of the defined school age population.

Education/Qualification
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse/Midwife (current)
- Specialist Community Public Health Nurse School Nursing / or Differing in Practice in school nursing
- Evidence of continuing post- registration education and training
Desirable criteria
- Practice Assessor course
- PSHE Course
- Community nurse prescribing qualification or prepared to work towards.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
