Clinical Nurse Specialist Palliative Care

NHS AfC: Band 7

CNWL (Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust) has almost 7,000 staff providing integrated healthcare to a third of London's population, Milton Keynes and areas beyond. We involve service users, carers, the public, staff and partner organisations in the way that we are run. You can become a member by visiting our website.

Our catchment area spans diverse communities, with over 100 first languages spoken. It contains areas of great affluence as well as areas of much deprivation. We are committed to providing services that meet the needs of the people who use them, and we actively encourage involvement from local people who can help make a difference. We’re proud of our diversity and we continue to undertake new initiatives to advance equality for LGBT+, BME and people with disabilities to promote good relations and understanding between our staff.

CNWL is recognised locally, nationally and internationally for providing high quality, innovative healthcare. We aim to employ only the best people, and our experts are frequently called upon to contribute to national health strategy and policy, and many models of our care have been adapted for use in other countries.

CNWL NHS FOUNDATION TRUST OFFERS A GENEROUS RELOCATION PACKAGE TO SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES - SUBJECT TO ELIGIBILITY ASSESSMENT

Here in Central London, the demand for our specialist palliative care is increasing at a faster pace than ever before and many more people are dying in their place of choice thanks to the work we do as a multi-professional service.

Due to the promotion of one of our senior CNS's we are looking for a dynamic, innovative and enthusiastic nurse to work in our community palliative care team, covering South Camden, North East Westminster and Islington.

The Service has been established since the 1970s delivering integrated Specialist Palliative Care expertise to the communities listed above and to the following hospitals: UCLH NHS Foundation Trust, Harley Street at UCLH, The Harley Street Clinic and the Princess Grace Hospital including a 24hr on call service, although this is currently under review.

Camden is home to one of London’s most visited tourist attractions: the markets, streets and shops that have grown around Camden Lock and its associated music venues. Camden as a Borough is diverse, containing both Hampstead Heath and its famous swimming ponds and the housing estates of Somers Town. Islington is also a diverse Borough with many restaurants and cafes on its famous Upper Street, to places of entertainment such as the Almeida Theatre and the Emirates Stadium.

Would you enjoy the challenge of working in our busy palliative care service where we day to day try to achieve the best palliative and end of life care outcomes for the people we care for? Could you imagine yourself working in the heart of the city? Are you ambitious to develop your palliative career and would you like to develop in this thriving practice with a long tradition of ‘can do’? If yes, it’s worth reading on.
