Clinical Nurse Manager

We are seeking to recruit to an inpatient Clinical Nurse Manager post (Band 7) within John Howard Centre on permanent position. It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager within ELFT or outside of the service to progress to a ward manager role on our specialist autism service.

Westferry Ward is a Specialist High Dependency ward for  males situated in Medium Secure services.  Our mission is to provide safe, individualized and specialist care and treatment for detained in-patients with complex needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on continuous development and improvement of nursing in providing high quality care to patients. It also calls for visible and inclusive leadership as part of a multi-disciplinary team and other teams across the service.

In this role you will be required to support the ongoing relational security, trauma informed care and reducing restrictive practices initiatives in the service.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • Developing the teams’ ability to ensure that a service user centred multi-disciplinary approach to care is present.
  • Ensuring the team provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluating care in keeping with evidence based practice.
  • Lead in direct care to complex service users or groups of service users and role model to junior staff.
  • To provide specialist guidance to junior staff relevant to clinical speciality.
  • Ensuring that a high standard of practice is maintained in relation to the detention of mentally ill clients under the Mental Health Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. Ensuring that least restrictive practices are promoted within individual care.
  • Support the team to develop and implement specialist programmes of care which could include individual and group interventions.
