EPR (Epic) e-Learning Designer

Job overview

·       We are looking to recruit two EPR e-Learning Designers on a fixed term contract of 12-15 months (dependent on start date).  The posts will work together to support our EPR Thrive Efficiency Project to review how we deliver EPR (Epic) induction training to new starters at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

 

 

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the role : 

  • To create high quality e-Learning content using Articulate software.
  • To deploy expertise in e-Learning authoring tools and to maintain a consistent format, adhering to agreed design principles.
  •  To design e-Learning modules to reflect best practice and current workflows and to provide a creative and interactive eLearning experience.
  • Participate in the creation of exercise booklets to support the e-Learnings, using the Epic training environment to support practice and play.
  • Help to maintain Epic training curriculum documents, including lesson plans, scripts, exercise booklets and EUPAs, especially after upgrades, build or workflow changes.
  • To administer and support the deployment of Epic e-Learnings on the Trust’s Learning Management System (GOLD)

Academic/Professional Qualification/Training

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Training certificate or equivalent in digital learning design, authoring tools or Adobe certified courses
Desirable criteria
  • Certification of Education or other relevant training qualification

Experience/Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience of producing e-Learning materials and associated support services.
  • Experience of working in a team – display team values, positive, willing, and cooperative.
  • Proven experience in supporting the use of digital technology in teaching and learning.
  • Experience of providing education or learning within NHS or healthcare setting.
  • Understanding of clinical, administrative and/or operational workflows and processes within a hospital environment.
  • Understanding of information governance.
  • Experience of using design software (eg articulate storyline/articulate 360 or similar).
  • Experience working with different media and file formats including video.
  • Experience leading in the development process of e-Learning from planning to release.
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of a specific clinical subject area relating to an EPR
  • Experience of developing EPR or Epic training material.
  • Experience of supporting project/change management
  • Experience of working with learning management systems/platforms

  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels in the organisation, including clinical staff and managerial staff as well as with external suppliers.
  • Proven knowledge of IT systems and software programmes such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, articulate storyline/articulate 360 (or similar)
  • Able to prioritise tasks to achieve deadlines whilst working under pressure and with frequent interruptions
  • The ability to maintain a professional approach and always demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills (organisational and communication)
  • Ability to impart knowledge and/or present to others in a clear and concise manner.
  • Able to cope with unpredictable and intense situations.
  • Able to work collaboratively with own team members as well as those in other application teams.
  • Ability to take a creative approach to resolving a learning design challenge.
  • Ability to learn new tools and software to meet the requirements of the job.
