Consultant in Paediatric Neurogastroenterology and Motility
Permanent 10 PA’s position
We are currently inviting applications for a full time Paediatric Consultant to join our Gastroenterology team.
This exciting opportunity is for a full-time post to work in this unique and supportive environment within a busy children’s hospital.
We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic consultant with appropriate clinical experience to join our team of 10 paediatric Gastroenterologists working specifically within the Neurogastroenterology and Motility Unit.
This post involves a 1 in 8 on-call commitment (non-resident) for Gastroenterology patients when attending providing 24-hour cover for the service. They will also be required to undertake senior leadership responsibility for the management of patient care whilst leading a team of middle grade Drs in the in-patient care of children. The on-call consultant is expected to undertake ward rounds at the weekend and on public holidays.
The successful applicant will join the Neurogastroenterology and Motility Unit and will run general GI clinics and Motility clinics. The successful applicant will also be required to undertake one endoscopy list on alternative weeks, with additional cases under general anaesthesia as required, as well as all range of GI motility investigations, including antroduodenal and colonic manometry, on weekly basis.
Applicants are expected to be MRCHP/MRCHPCH qualified or equivalent, and have extensive experience in general paediatrics, paediatric gastroenterology as well as clear evidence of experience in the field of Neurogastroenterology & Motility.
All applicants must either be on the General Medical Council's specialist register or be within six months of obtaining their CCT award at the time of application.
