Research Infrastructure Developer
The GOSH DRIVE Team is looking for someone to build, configure, and support our research computing infrastructure. At the moment this consists of a small on-premise cluster, managed research platforms provided by some of our partners, and an experimental project with a major cloud vendor. We hope this new role will accelerate our use of those existing tools as well as pioneering the addition of new hardware (e.g. specialised GPU boxes) and cloud resources. Working in a modern dev-ops style you will use Ansible, Terraform, containerisation etc. to set up repeatable processes for deployment and monitoring while working with GOSH ICT and third-party vendors to keep development environments, research data flows, and machine learning pipelines running; constantly improving; and contributing to saving the lives of sick children in our hospital and beyond.
No previous experience in research or healthcare is necessary, please apply if you have some of the above technical skills and would like to collaborate closely with clinicians and data scientists to raise the standard of data use in the NHS.
Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) is an international centre of excellence in child healthcare. Together with our research partner, the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, we form the UK’s only academic Biomedical Research Centre specialising in paediatrics.
