Ward Housekeeper

Chameleon ward has 14 inpatient beds. This includes 10 cubicles and a 4 bedded neonatal High dependency bay.

The ward is recruiting a Part -Time Housekeeper for 22.5 hours per week.

This is managed by the Ward Sister for Chameleon and this role involves working within a team of nursing staff and multi disciplinary team members to support the family’s stay in hospital. This would include liaising with the other part time Housekeeper currently on Chameleon.

Have knowledge and understanding of the patient environment and its associated required standards.


Have knowledge and understanding of how the associated Estates and Facilities (EFM)Services (i.e. Catering, Portering, Linen, Works, , Materials Management, Domestic Services) work and provide the individual service to the Ward and how they are accessed.

Follow the Trust Infection Control policies and procedures when carrying out all aspects of their role e.g., food safety, hand hygiene, decontamination, infection cleans Provide excellent communication between the units and Estates and Facilities to ensure effective coordination of support services at unit level.


Participate in risk and incident management in line with Trust and local Policies.


To have a full understanding of the Trust’s Child Protection Policy and Guidelines and what actions should be taken if you have any concerns.
