Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. We provide a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London and as well as specialist care for patients from further afield including cancer, renal, orthopaedic, respiratory and cardiovascular services.

Guy’s is home to the largest dental school in Europe and a £160 million Cancer Centre opened in 2016. As part of our commitment to provide care closer to home, in 2017 we also opened a cancer centre and a kidney treatment centre at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup. St Thomas’ has one of the largest critical care units in the UK and one of the busiest emergency departments in London. It is also home to Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services. We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions. 

Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients.

In February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, bringing together world-leading expertise in the care and research of heart and lung disease. Our merger provides a once in a generation opportunity to build a lasting, world-renowned heart and lung centre, providing the highest quality care for patients and conducting world-leading research.

We have a reputation for clinical excellence and high quality teaching and research. We are part of King’s Health Partners, one of eight accredited UK academic health sciences centres. In partnership with King’s College London we have dedicated clinical research facilities including an MHRA accredited Phase I clinical trials unit.

Patients are at the heart of everything we do and we pride ourselves on ensuring the best possible patient experience as well as safe, high quality care. We are proud to have one of the lowest mortality rates in the NHS. Following a comprehensive Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection in 2019 we maintained our overall rating of ‘good’. Our adult community services achieved a rating of ‘outstanding’.

The Health Innovation Network (HIN) South London supports the spread and adoption of innovation in health and social care. Our Community and Care Home Programmes’ team is looking to recruit an experienced project manager with the passion and drive to support south London’s health and care organisations to deliver positive change through innovation.

 

The award-winning HIN is a vibrant and exciting place to work. We are hosted by Guy’s and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust, so staff enjoy the benefits of being part of the NHS family. Our office is based near Waterloo/Westminster stations and we offer great health and wellbeing support including yoga, a book club, lunchtime walks, and regular social events.

 

Our HIN Academy provides fantastic training to upskill staff to work collaboratively across the system. We also offer regular opportunity for staff to work from home. The successful candidate will manage the delivery of key projects at the HIN, working with colleagues in health and care organisations across south London.

 

We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills, who has a track record of delivering projects in health and/or social care. For this role, experience facilitating groups, preparing bids and business cases, and writing reports would be particularly advantageous.

·       is able to develop close working relationships with key stakeholders at partner organisations

·       is confident facilitating groups of external stakeholders

·       has experience of bid preparation and report writing

What is the Health Innovation Network?

 

There are 15 health innovation networks across England, established by NHS England in 2013 to spread innovation at pace and scale – improving health and generating economic growth. Health Innovation Network (HIN) South London is the health innovation network for south London. We are the bodies uniquely established to connect academics, NHS commissioners and providers, local authorities, patients and patient groups and industry to accelerate the spread and adoption of innovations and best practice, using an evidence-based approach, working across large populations.

 

Working as catalysts of change across health and social care economies, we facilitate health improvements and economic growth. We work across a huge range of health and care services through each of our clinical and innovation themes, to transform care in diabetes, cardiometabolic disease, mental health, community settings and social care, to accelerate digital health uptake into the NHS, and we’re passionate about education.

 

The Health Innovation Network helps mobilise the value that the NHS can add as an economic asset to the UK economy. The HIN works with a range of expert support and services across the health and care sectors that support NHS innovators and companies to realise the commercial and economic potential of their innovations.

 ·        Communicate highly complex, sensitive and contentious information on the progress of the projects to key stakeholders across the Network team and the Programme Board

·        Liaise closely with centres of excellence and expert advisory groups and ensure that the projects reflect current good and evidence-based practice.

·        Facilitate meetings of clinicians, managers, patients and other partners to agree priorities and action plans.

·        Support consensus building and manage conflict or opposing views whilst encouraging participation from all involved.·        Proactively problem-solve and negotiate where issues arise in the development and implementation of the projects.

·        Draft information relevant to the projects both locally and nationally, for example through service events, displays, exhibitions, local newsletters, website and local events, liaising closely with the communications manager and senior programme management team.

·        Responsible for reviewing, developing and the dissemination of educational materials and resources (e.g. training packs, videos, leaflets and posters) ensuring that all resources are appropriate to local needs.
