Person specification

Education/Qualifications

Essential criteria

Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
Good general knowledge base in the health issues surrounding homeless people e.g. mental health, drug and alcohol misuse, impact of health needs of no recourse to public funds patients.

Desirable criteria

Completed formal education / specialist course in a relevant area e.g. addictions.

Experience

Essential criteria

Direct work experience with homeless clients or clients with addictions
Experience of independent practice with homeless people and within a team
Experience of case management
Experience of working in partnership and negotiating with a wide variety of agencies
Experience of dealing with complex housing issues

Desirable criteria

Experience of working in partnership with voluntary/ statutory agencies
Experience of working in partnership with voluntary/ statutory agencies
Experience of working directly with statutory homeless agencies e.g. Local Authority Homeless Persons Units

Skills

Essential criteria

Good IT skills (WORD, POWERPOINT etc.)
Highly developed written communication skills

Remote developmental histories and child observations (via video calls)
Peer MDT diagnostic decision-making, with the support of the senior clinical MDT where required
Tech-enabled outcome report writing
Outcome calls with parents and families (via video call)

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
