Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Inflammatory Bowel Disease Service MDT & Pathway Coordinator  in the Gastroenterology services at St Mary's Hospital.

The post is pivotal role in ensuring smooth running of the administrative responsibilities associated with the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) service. This role was created to support the IBD service in the development of national IBD care service in the development of the national IBD care standards and to set up process to coordinate successful multidisciplinary (MDT) meetings, develop the Trust inflammatory dowel disease data base and to support the administrative processes in the clinics as well as support recruitment as patients into the clinical trials for the IBD service

The post holder require highly computer literate, experienced with hospital administrative setting with knowledge and evidence of medical terminology, educated to a level require to perform the role or equivalent experience.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be require to work across all sites with n the Trust to meet the service needs. The role entitles operational decisions-making skills, ability to work autonomously using own initiative and within the team in the development and delivery of the Gastroenterology IBD Service.

The post holder will be predominantly responsible for managing the day to day organisation and smooth function of the Gastroenterology service utilising and developing the service data bases. Therefore, it is expected that the post holder is highly computer literate, experienced with hospital administrative setting with knowledge and evidence of medical terminology, educated to a level require to perform the role or equivalent experience.

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a professional, proficient administrative support service to the Senior IBD Clinical nurse speciality, IBD Clinical lead to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the service

The post holder will be require to input and access data into the IBD data base, the Trust local patients systems, and provide IT support to the team, and assist with data retrieval.
