The Department provides hepatology outpatient services in St Mary’s, St Charles’, Hammersmith, Charing Cross and Queen Charlotte’s hospitals. In addition to General Hepatology Clinics, members of the Department provide specialist clinics in NASH, liver oncology, HBV, antenatal care, paediatric hepatitis, decompensated cirrhosis, pre- and post-liver transplant. Within the Department is a 4-bedded clinical day unit. There is a busy clinical trials team managing a wide-range of commercial and investigator-led studies. The department also manages inpatient hepatology beds on the St Marys site admitting a wide range of patients and established outreach to Charing Cross Hospital and Hammersmith. There is a fully integrated, basic science research group with co-located laboratory facilities and successful candidates will be encouraged to continue, initiate or collaborate in the scientific research of the Department, as well as teaching.
