At NELFT, we have the perfect opportunity for you. And we flex to suit you, let us know if we can accommodate a flexible working arrangement to suit your personal circumstances.

We are looking for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our SLT team within the Vanguard Project and on the CAMHS Neurodevelopmental diagnostic pathway for autism and ADHD for children and young people over the age of five in Waltham Forest.

Main duties of the job

Speech and Language Therapists are core to the efficient service delivery that we provide to children, young people and their families.

As a Speech and Language Therapist in our service, you will deliver care to children, young people and their families in the community and within the clinic setting at Wood Street Health Centre.

You will be working on the autism and ADHD diagnostic pathway for children and young people over five within an MDT. This pathway sits within the CAMHS team where you will be working alongside OT’s, psychiatry, family therapy, clinical and counselling psychologists, specialist nursing and child and adolescent psychotherapists.

You will also be working on the Vanguard project. This is an NHS-England pilot project focused on supporting the needs of young people at risk of or impacted by violence. This is a multi-systems and multi-agency project working closely alongside Local Authority and Community Sector organisations. The project adopts a trauma-informed and social justice approach.

The Health team offers two streams of support: Strengthening the System and Targeted Support. This involves  facilitating training, workshops, reflective practice sessions and a consultation model of support. You will support Case Workers/ Youth Engagement Workers in their thinking and development of shared understandings in relation to young people they are working with.
