This post is 22.5 hours per week, 9am-5pm, including weekends and bank holidays

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to join our hospital palliative care team based at the Barnet Hospital site.  We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse with a genuine interest in palliative care, along with a commitment to continuous learning, teamwork and mutual support.

 We provide a seven day, face-to-face service, for patients with malignant and non-malignant conditions who have specialist palliative care needs.  The post holder will hold their own caseload, and work in close collaboration with the specialist palliative care MDT.

 We look forward to hearing from applicants who have at least five years experience as a registered nurse and experience of working with patients who have specialist palliative care needs. The applicant will need to demonstrate clinical expertise as well as excellent communication skills and a proven track record of teaching in a clinical setting.

 We will offer continuing education, support, and development, to develop your skills as a clinical nurse specialist.

To manage a caseload and provide an expert and autonomous nursing service for patients with life limiting illness and potentially facing end of life care issues, and support them and their families, using advance clinical judgement and knowledge in palliative care.
To lead and innovate nursing practice in palliative care on the Barnet  Hospital site. To take part in a 7 day / week face to face clinical nurse specialist -specialist palliative care service.
 To contribute to the weekly specialist palliative care MDT. To design and deliver specialist palliative care education; and deliver end of life education.
To support and mentor students in the team.
To take part in the regular palliative care team programme of service development and review of clinical practice. To develop research skills and contribute to the development of multi-disciplinary research within palliative care.

We will offer continuing education, support, and development, to develop your skills as a clinical nurse specialist.
