Job overview

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and knowledgeable locum Consultant Urological Surgeon (10 PA) to contribute to the elective recovery and continued restoration of Urology service within the Royal Free London.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work in a multidisciplinary team to provide specialist expertise in the following areas:

- Out-patient clinics across the Royal Free Hospital and Barnet Hospital for new and follow up patients

- Outpatient diagnostic procedures e.g. flexible cystoscopy and prostate biopsies

- In-patient and day case surgical operating lists

-  Attendance at multidisciplinary meetings

- Participation in the audit and governance activities of the department.

 

 The initial duration of this post will be 12 months but will be subject to review.

Education & professional Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Possession of MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Eligible for GMC registration
  • Eligible for admission to the specialist register in Urology
  • Membership of relevant Royal College or equivalent
  • FRCS(Urol) or equivalent

Experience

  • Subspecialist expertise in endourology, including HoLeP
  • Experience in working in multidisciplinary teams
  • Good research and publication record

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to supervise the clinical work of other staff
