Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide maternity leave cover within the lung cancer specialist nursing team. The successful candidate will work as part of the multi-professional team based at St Georges NHS Trust.
The Macmillan Lung Cancer CNS will support patients who have been referred into St George's Respiratory clinics for diagnostics. They will also support people with a diagnosis of lung cancer through treatment. The Macmillan Lung Cancer CNS will be an expert in lung cancer diagnostics and treatment. The Macmillan lung Cancer CNS will also support provision of nurse-led clinics for patients who have completed their curative treatment for lung cancer.
Main duties of the job
The Lung Cancer CNS will act as a keyworker for patients with lung cancer, mesothelioma and thymoma. They will provide holistic personalised care and be an expert in their field. The Lung Cancer CNS will also be a source of expert level knowledge for colleagues providing care to lung cancer patients across the organisation. The Lung cancer CNS will be a team player, working closely with the local and wider regional multi-disciplinary teams.

The successful postholder will be able to work independently and as part of a multi-professional MDT across organisational boundaries to provide seamless care to lung cancer patients.
