Main duties of the job
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to support the Lead Pharmacy Technician – Clinical Services and Clinical Pharmacist team leaders in the provision of a ward-based pharmacy service to the clinical speciality and associated wards. This position is open to pharmacy technicians with post qualification ward-based experience, we would like to hear from you.
You will work alongside a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to lead and provide a core service of medicines optimisation in clinical areas. You will arrange supply of discharge medicines which includes dispensing and checking of TTAs on the wards. You will be one of the lead pharmacy technicians supporting to develop the clinical pharmacy technicians and the clinical service.
The post holder will also support the induction and training of ward-based pharmacy technicians, ATO’s, Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians and Trainee pharmacists.
The candidate must hold the NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent and be a professional registered Pharmacy Technician who has achieved the Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification and be a qualified educational supervisor.
The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills and enjoy both an individual challenge and working as part of a large team.
