Job overview

Main duties of the job

If you are a dynamic and creative CAMHS clinician who is looking to develop professionally, and who has a passion for working with children, young people and families in community CAMHS in innovative ways, this is a great opportunity for you. You will join the Clinical Intake Team (CIT) which is  a multi-disciplinary team staffed by highly experienced clinicians and part of a large and vibrant child and family department. The CIT team works very closely with the Community CAMHS services and our partner agencies. We are proud to offer a dynamic, innovative, and needs-led service. We strive to be an accessible, responsive, and innovative service with patient care and patient experience at its heart.

Working for our organisation

You will provide input to Camden CAMHS’s intake structure and will be part of this exciting development in our service, aiming to build on our success in creating the high-quality front door service to meet service users’ needs. This includes joining our innovative Integrated Front Door service alongside Camden social care. There are other opportunities including service development, Quality Improvement and clinical governance initiatives, service user involvement, audit, and research.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be part of the team’s various duty rotas, and this will include responding to urgent queries. The post holder will be supervised by a senior clinician and join a growing team discipline depending on the successful applicant’s professional body.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree level as a minimum plus developed specialist and practical knowledge equating to postgraduate degree/ Masters level
  • Registration with HCPC or relevant body as a Clinical Psychologist, Educational Psychologist, Counselling Psychologist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Nurse, Psychotherapist, or Systemic Therapist

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of clinical experience of working with client population. A clear track record of managing complexity and risk whilst maintaining high standards of service delivery
  • A comprehensive understanding of the changing NHS and Social Care environment and the challenges they face
  • Experience of working at all levels of the system with internal and external stakeholders
  • Expertise of managing and treating the client group Some experience of clinical supervision
Desirable criteria
  • Some experience of clinical management of staff
  • Some experience of involvement in project work e.g. quality improvement

Skills

Essential criteria
  • High level of skill and knowledge in safeguarding and risk management
  • Personal duty of care in relation to equipment or resources
  • Basic keyboard skills for updating client records
  • Ability to manage own clinical case load

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Willingness to contribute to strategic and business planning
  • Skills for assessing and communicating complex client conditions and applying appropriate clinical treatments
