Job overview
UCLH is seeking a full time Information Governance Coordinator to join the Information Governance Team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract basis.
The post holder will provide support functions within the Information Governance Team contributing towards meeting information governance, data protection and privacy standards including the Data Security and Protection Toolkit and reducing information risks.
The post holder will coordinate the annual completion of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit, deliver training, and provide effective Information Governance communications to staff at all levels across the Trust.
The post holder will act as a point of contact for initial Information Governance queries using professional judgement to provide advice and guidance or to escalate as appropriate.
The postholder will report to the Information Governance Manager and will work with various members of staff across the organisation, agencies, patients, and the general public.
The postholder will deputise for the Information Governance Manager as required.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will work as part of the Information Governance team under the supervision of the Information Governance Manager, and is responsible for:
• Assisting in the delivery of objectives within the Information Governance agenda.
• Assisting the Information Governance Manager in contributing to managing the Trust’s annual Information Governance strategic framework and regulatory requirements, e.g., data protection and security toolkit.
• Delivery within the Information Governance Trust-wide programme of training and communications.
• Ensuring the Records and Information Governance Group is administered appropriately.
• Providing effective and timely advice on complex issues to trust staff at all levels on all aspects of Information Governance through the management of formal communication channels and escalating highly complex issues where necessary.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree level education or the equivalent level of experience
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Data Security and Protection Toolkit, DPA, FOIA and security standards
Experience
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of IG and its interaction with complex information systems.
- IG experience (at least 2 years) in a team within an NHS or equivalent healthcare setting
- Experience of implementing organisation-wide IG policies and procedures.
- Experience of developing and implementing records management training and awareness programs for staff.
- Experience of gaining and maintaining a clear understanding of business objectives
- Thorough knowledge of the NHS Information Governance Agenda and the NHS Digital Data Security and Protection Toolkit
- Experience of cross-team and cross-discipline working with multiple organisations, external agencies and organisations
- Dealing with members of the public
Skills, Abilities, Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Working within a team skills.
- Good decision making and organisational skills.
- Specialist understanding or experience of IG issues relating to supporting healthcare systems
- Presenting to and persuading large groups of (often senior) managers and conveying complex concepts clearly and persuasively
