Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator with knowledge of medical education to work in the Medical Education Service. This is a chance to play a key role in supporting the management of medical education.
Working with the Medical Education Manager and Medical Education team, the post-holder will ensure high quality education services are provided to resident doctors in postgraduate training and medical students at UCLH.
The postholder will have a responsibility for accurate collecting and recording of data to allow the department to meet its internal and external compliance and reporting requirements

Main duties of the job

The postholder will provide high-level administrative support for the delivery of Medical Education Programmes. 
The postholder will ensure the provision of efficient and effective day-to-day administrative support to the Medical Education Manager and Medical and Dental Education Training Programmes Managers under the direction of Medical Education Manager.

It is expected that the postholder will be a proactive and efficient member of the Medical and Dental Education Team and will provide administrative support to ensure all Undergraduate and Postgraduate Training Programmes are administered effectively.

The postholder will have a responsibility for accurate collecting and recording of data to allow the department to meet its internal and external compliance and reporting requirements. These include requirements relating to:

• Study leave 
• GMC National Training Survey
• Annual Review of Competence Progression for Foundation Trainees (ARCP)

In addition, the postholder will be also required to maintain partnership-working with internal and external stakeholders, as dictated by needs.

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent level of knowledge/experience
  • Administrative/business administration qualification or equivalent level of knowledge/experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Medical and Dental Education Programmes

  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of Medical and Dental Education Programmes administration

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrable experience of database and spreadsheet use, including data entry and report production
  • High-level office administration skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone and internet communication
  • Ability to advise and respond to multiple queries in a timely way
