Job overview

Applications are invited for the post of Speciality Doctor in General Adult psychiatry for 12 months in Ravenscourt Ward, a 20 bedded male admission ward based in the Hammersmith and Fulham mental health inpatient unit, West London. The post holder will provide clinical support and leadership as part of an established medical team and MDT. The position is full time.

 

Applicants must be registered with a licence to practice with the GMC and ideally have experience working in inpatients units with section 12 status. All medical staff are employed by WLNT.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be a senior member of an established medical team, under a substantive consultant psychiatrist and part of a comprehensive MDT. 

 

The Hammersmith and Fulham inpatient unit is one of two general adult inpatient services for West London NHS trust and is based close to the Charing Cross Hospital Site in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham in West London. Ravenscourt ward is one of four male admission wards within West London local services.

 

The candidate will have key clinical and management roles on the ward, providing clinical input to Ravenscourt Ward, through active engagement and participation in ward clinical activity. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate a commitment to good clinical care and personal development, excellent communication skills and familiarity with the MHA in the UK. They will need to deliver care in best clinical practice and guidelines informed by trauma informed principles. There are no routine out of hours commitments associated with this post.

 

The post holder will be managed through the governance structures of West London local Services, reporting to the ward consultant and the acute Clinical Lead for the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham .
