Job overview

There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior registered nurse to come and join the cancer services team at Whittington Health NHS Trust. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual, with an established background in breast cancer care and a strong work ethic, to oversee the operational running, service development, and management of the Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) team and service.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring high quality care to our Breast cancer patients. The post holder will take a leadership role as part of the Cancer Nursing Lead team, working independently to manage high-quality care and a cost-effective service for patients with suspected or confirmed breast cancer.

Current projects include the breast pain pathway and provision of nurse led clinics to facilitate follow up of patients receiving targeted therapies.

The post holder will ideally be working at an advanced level of practice, and will have completed their non medical prescriber (NMP) course.

Working for our organisation

Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff.  We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief.  The Trust  believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
