Job overview
You will be providing input for an acute male in patient ward for working age patients (18-65 years old).
The ward is designed for male service users who are over 18 and who are deemed to be suffering from a serious mental illness, which cannot be managed in the community. All admissions are gate kept by our Acute Referrals centre (ARC) and local Home Treatment team (HTT) who strive to provide a less restrictive alternative to admission. Majority (80% approximately) of patients admitted will be detained under the Mental health act with a few Informal admissions. As such, patients who are admitted to the ward are generally acutely unwell and will therefore need prompt assessment and management by the in-patient multi-disciplinary team.
