An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team Milton Keynes Lifespan Eating Disorder Service. This is a specialist team providing evidence-based treatments for patients presenting with eating disorders and medical/ psychiatric co-morbidities, across the lifespan. The core purpose of the role is to provide day to day senior nurse leadership to the team. Responsibilities include: managing referrals to the team, providing specialist assessments and formulating appropriate care plans, providing evidence based therapy to patients.
Main duties of the job
You will hold substantive nursing experience and qualifications. Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team and ensuring there is good clinical nursing practice within the team. Experience of working with young people(CYP) is Essential, and experience of working with Adults presenting with a range of eating disorders is Desirable.
We require individuals who have experience, knowledge and skills to deliver eating disorder treatments like: Family Based Treatment (FBT), Family Therapy for Anorexia Nervosa (/FT-AN), Maudsley Model of Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults (MANTRA), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-ED/CBT-E) , Specialist Supportive Clinical Management.
You will also be required to contribute to clinically-relevant audit and research and will carry out relevant administrative duties. We will value and support your continued clinical and professional development.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Role model nursing excellence as an expert practitioner, providing a high standard of direct care to patients and professional advice and support to the clinical team
- Lead on all matters pertaining to safeguarding within the service
- Work with pathway managers to ensure that clinical incidents, concerns and patient feedback are reviewed and acted on in a timely manner, taking a lead on key practice improvements as indicated
- Act as a resource for expert nursing advice and support across the MDT/partner agencies and take the lead on oversight of complex cases as required.
- Lead on patient experience for the pathway, ensuring that patients, carers and families have the opportunity to be involved in shared decision making and service design, as appropriate
- Provide clinical advice regarding pathway design/service transformation and work with clinical leads across pathways to ensure streamlined services
- Lead on clinical policy/procedure development and implementation for the service

Person specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Registered nurse with current NMC registration
- Post graduate qualifications such as CBT-E, FBT, MANTRA
- Evidence of continuing professional and personal development at Band 7
- Advanced level of knowledge relating to Eating Disorders, mental health and nursing practice in the CAMHs field
Desirable criteria
- Non medical prescriber (V300)
- Teaching qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant professional experience as a senior nurse in the field of CAMHs Eating Disorder
- Eemonstrates experience of clinical management and leadership as a senior nurse
- Experience of multi agency working
Other
Essential criteria
- Effective communication skills
- Experience of dealing with a variety of stakeholders
