Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Newham Directorate for a Part-time band 4 ward administrator 22.5  hours per week. This is a permanent post and we are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person who is looking for a new role in a very busy  and challenging environment on a Mental Health Picu ward.   As an administrator you will be based on a busy ward offering support to the Multi Disciplinary Team and are often the first point of contact

Main duties of the job

·       Inpatient experience

·       Excellent communication & interpersonal skills within a multidisciplinary team

·       Reliable, flexible & adaptable

·       Ability to use initiative

·       Familiar with the reporting service and KPI reports

·       Chase any outstanding CQUINS and update accordingly

·       Ensure that 72 hour follow-up appointments have been booked

·       Excellent IT knowledge and a comprehensive knowledge of office systems including Microsoft Teams and OneDrive.

·       Ensure RIO is synchronised & updated

·       Paperwork is scanned and uploaded

·       Ordering of suppliers on both Oracle and Clares

·       Assist/cover other ward admin where required

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We are looking for someone that has a flexible approach to work, who preferable has had inpatient and RIO experience in a Mental Health unit, or someone that is adaptable and willing to learn with excellent IT knowledge and a comprehensive knowledge of office systems including Microsoft Teams and One Drive.

Essential criteria
  • • Good standard of written and spoken English

Experience

  • • At least one year in an NHS/Healthcare environment.s

Knowledge and Skills

  • • Computer Literacy including MS Teams, Office 365 and OneDrive.
  • • Ability to work without the need for direct supervision.
  • • Ability to prioritise own work.
  • • Ability to deal with distressed clients in a sympathetic manner
  • • Excellent communication skills, including excellent telephone manner.
  • • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all matters relating to clients.
  • • Ability to liaise with service users and multidisciplinary teams in a pleasant and helpful manner
  • • Self-motivated.
  • • Flexible.
  • • Ability to work in a team.
  • • Good timekeeping
