An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our excellent neonatal team here at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is one of the biggest and busiest Level 2 units in London, we care for babies born at 27 weeks gestation and take pride in providing the perfect environment in which these tiny neonates can grow, thrive and develop. The unit comprise of total babies of 32 cots ,3 intensive cots, 8 high dependency cots and 21 special care cots  and manages an extensive range of medical cases within these culturally-diverse boroughs.  


Here at BHRUT we have a dedicated and dynamic multidisciplinary team who maintain the highest quality and standards of care to our neonatal population, the successful applicant will join our dedicated team of which includes Neonatologists, Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners Clinical Nurse Specialists including neonatal community outreach service and a dedicated Education Team who provide clinical training and support within the neonatal unit. In addition we also work closely with a highly motivated team of allied health professionals to provide excellent family centred and psychosocial care for our patients and families.  


We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated, flexible, hardworking, positive thinking Neonatal Qualified In Speciality  Nurse  to our team to assist /give high-quality of  care  and promote  care for all our babies and their families.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for the care of one or defined group of babies within the Neonatal Unit without supervision and to utilise and further develop specialist skills in order to provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised patient care. To actively participate in and contribute to the management of the clinical area.

We operate from two main sites – KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 330,000 people visiting them last year. We’re campaigning to secure the £35m we need to transform the A&E at Queen’s and get rid of corridor care. 
 
Our patients are benefitting from our Women’s Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch. 
 
These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 94,000 scans a year. 
 
The majority of our 8,000 staff – who come from 146 different countries - live in the three di-verse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Many can work flexibly and more than 400 of them are on our Ofsted accredited apprenticeship pro-grammes. We’re proud to be a London Living Wage employer.

  • RN/RCN with current registration at degree level.
  • Neonatal qualification QIS and NLS

  • NLS Provider / NLS Trained
