Geographically, Havering has the best of both worlds, we have easily accessible road and rail transport connections; we are just a 22 minute commute to central London and have both over ground and underground links (Zone 6), we are also fortunate to that more than half the borough is parkland (23 square miles) and the vast open countryside of Essex, Kent and Hertfordshire are all within easy access.

Havering has great shopping; Romford has a large market and we are nearby Lakeside, WestField and Bluewater shopping centres. There are also many outdoor and indoor social activities on offer. Many of our staff have fedback that they choose to live and work in Havering because it’s got affordable housing and good schools.

Havering has a lower population density than other London Boroughs and, at 4.5%, a below average unemployment rate for Greater London, and one of the lowest London crime rates

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require sponsorship to work in the United Kingdom (UK) are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. Please note that from January 2021, to work in the UK all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland (RoI) nationals require sponsorship unless you have permission to work via another route. Non UK / RoI candidates wishing to apply can self-assess the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship here. It is vital that you provide full and accurate details of your current immigration status on the application form. Overseas applicants applying for entry clearance into the UK must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided in continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Guidance can be found here. Not everyone needs a ‘Skilled Worker’ visa. If you are applying for a vacancy in health or adult social care, check if you’re eligible to apply for the Health and Care Worker visa instead.
