Job overview

The Estates Department is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Multi Skilled Operative (Electrician) to join our dynamic team at West London NHS Trust.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the trust's estate is compliant, safe, and fit for purpose. You will play a crucial role in making sure that our buildings and infrastructure meet the Trust's current and future clinical and operational needs.

Main duties of the job

 

-        Servicing, testing, diagnosing and repairing faults in installations, plant and equipment with respect to electrical and electronic services

-        Providing multi-skilled trades to operate, maintain and service plant or equipment within the scope of the role at all London sites as required.

-        Providing technical support, advice and instruction to other maintenance staff and contractors.

-        Carrying out work activities which are both routine and non-routine maintenance.

-        Carrying out new works, repairs and routine planned maintenance activities to electrical equipment and services, and building related works, as directed at all London sites.

-        Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, Trust standards, policies and procedures.

-        Providing and receiving routine information to inform work colleagues, patients, and clients.

-        Communicating and explaining technical issues to other staff, clients and patients as appropriate.

-        Following set procedures for entering a ward and tidying up after each job.

-        Travel between London sites as required.

-        Participate when required in the departments out of hours on-call system, which provides 24 hour / 7 day cover on a roster basis.

-        Deputise for the line manager or senior operative as required

A Recruitment & Retention Premia (RRP) payment of £4,700 gross per annum pro rata applies to this position in addition to annual salary, subject to review every financial year.

Essential criteria
  • Recognised apprenticeship or other approved training scheme, plus relevant experience.
  • Plus City & Guilds part II or minimum NVQ Level 2 or other recognised course at the appropriate level

Experience

  • Demonstrate general experience of electrical and electronic systems or building trade.
