NHS North East London Integrated Care Board (ICB) was formed on 1 July 2022.

Job overview

We’re looking for an experience clinician in health and social care commissioning to help us make a real difference to patients in north east London.  As a registered clinician / practitioner who does not work in north east London, you will act as chair and provide independent clinical advice and constructive challenge to the decisions being made by the Primary Care Contracts Sub-Committee.

 

You will have strong leadership skills and experience as a chair or a member of an NHS board or committee.

 

As the independent chair of the ICB Primary Care Contracts sub-committee, you will be a clinical champion, promoting high quality decisions on the planning, review, management and procurement of primary care services.

 

The role is accountable to the ICB Chair and will be responsible for overseeing the exercise of functions relating to primary care, primarily to contracting and financial matters.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will undertake the following duties and responsibilities: 

You will provide independent, clinical advice to ICB committees including collective decisions on the review, planning management and procurement of primary medical services across NEL ICB under delegated authority from NHS England.

You will provide the necessary key leadership and clinical expertise offering a broader view on health and care issues to relevant committees as well as carrying out the delegated functions relating to the commissioning of primary medical services, primary dental services, primary ophthalmic services, local community pharmacy services. 

You will agree relevant committee agendas and forward plans, and ensure that its work and discussions meet the objectives set out in its terms of reference.
