Job overview
The Department has an extremely distinguished record as a tertiary referral centre for patients with Leukaemia, Lymphoproliferative Disorders and Myeloma, including Europe’s first HSCT, pioneering work on familial donors and umbilical cord HSCT and extensive involvement and leadership in national and international trials. Patients are predominantly referred directly from secondary care hospitals with results of diagnostic tests suggesting some form of haematological malignancy.
Main duties of the job
This post holder would be working closely with the HSCT, Cell Therapy and LPD consultants to provide care and pathway management for HSCT and cell therapy patients. It offers a really exciting opportunity for a consultant wanting to work in the field of HSCT and Cellular Therapy in a world-leading centre. This post will involve looking after both NHS and Private Patients including on call.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full and specialist registration (and a licence to practice) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or eligible for registration within six months of interview
- Applicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
- Applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
- FRCPath or evidence of equivalent qualification MRCP, or evidence of equivalent qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in transplantation, acute haematology and care of critically ill haematology patient
Desirable criteria
- Higher Research Degree (MD/PhD)
