Job overview

This is a position as a Consultant Paediatric Oncologist/haematologist -acute care. This will be an excellent opportunity to consolidate skills of managing a broad range of patients through their planned and urgent admissions.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will join the existing team of substantive consultants based at The Royal Marsden, Sutton and support both the solid team and haemato-oncology teams.

 

Substantive solid tumour consultants are Dr Sucheta Vaidya, Dr Lynley Marshall, Dr Julia Chisholm, Dr Fernando Carceller, Dr Julia Cockle, Dr Sally George, and Clinical oncologist Dr Henry Mandeville and paediatric endocrinologist Dr Assunta Albanese

Status

Essential criteria
  • Eligible for full GMC Registration
  • Membership of the Royal College of Paediatricians and Child Health or the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent qualifications
  • CCT in Paediatric Oncology or equivalent or within 6 months' of obtaining it. (Or equivalent CESR status)
Desirable criteria
  • Higher Degree (PhD/MD)
  • Teaching qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Broad based experience in paediatric oncology including early phase clinical trials experience
  • Organisation of education and training of junior doctors
  • Experience in medical audit
  • IT skills
