NHS AfC: Band 8a
Job overview
Applications are invited for a Band 8A Principal Radioisotope and Imaging Physicist in the Radioisotope Physics group of the Royal Marsden NHSFT at Sutton in Surrey. The successful candidate will join a team of clinical scientists providing support to the Nuclear Medicine areas of imaging, molecular radiotherapy and radiation safety.
The Nuclear Medicine Department carries out over 18,000 imaging procedures annually over the two Royal Marsden sites (Sutton and Chelsea). At the Sutton branch of the Trust there is one Siemens Biograph VisionX PET/CT and one Siemens Biograph mCT due to be upgraded to Siemens Quadra LAFOV PET/CT. In addition there are two Siemens Intevo SPECT/CT systems. The Chelsea branch is equipped with a Siemens Intevo SPECT/CT and a Siemens Biograph Horizon PET/CT system.
The successful candidate will take a leading role on supporting and optimising the new LAFOV PET service at Sutton but will also be required to support the broader radioisotope physics service at both Sutton and Chelsea sites.
Applicants should hold a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject and will be registered with the UK Health Professionals Council as well as a relevant MPE Certificate of Competence from RPA 2000. The Sutton branch of the Trust is situated on the edge of the Surrey countryside within a few miles of the M25 and with fast rail links into London. A shuttle bus runs at regular intervals between the two Trust sites.
