Job overview

Private care Medical day Unit /Private Outpatients/ Inpatients we are seeking an enthusiastic  Scheduling officer / Administrator to help maintain the efficient scheduling of treatments in their Medical day Unit & Outpatient Department  at our Sutton, Chelsea and Cavendish site. This post is vital to the smooth running of the Private Care Unit.  You will work in a busy environment, providing a supportive role to the clinical teams. The role also includes some movement around different parts of the hospital as well as admin based roles. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, you should possess excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and organisational skills. Keyboard/IT skills are essential and hospital experience is desirable. The post is for 37.5 Hours a week Monday and Friday ; with varied shifts between 8.00am – 8.00pm, working at Sutton/ Chelsea / Cavendish site on a rota basis. for further information please contact Emma Mckenna on ext 4002

Main duties of the job

To provide a high-quality, patient-focused service across Private Care Outpatients, Private Medical Day Unit (PPMDU) & Robert Tiffany Reception Desk, combining guest relations, administrative and scheduling responsibilities.   
  
The post holder will ensure a seamless patient pathway by coordinating appointments, supporting clinic and day unit activity, and delivering an excellent front-of-house/Guest Relations experience for patients and relatives.   
  
This role is integral to maintaining flow, capacity, and patient experience across the Sutton Private Care Service.   
  
The post holder will prioritise either front of house or scheduling responsibilities depending on daily service demand via team rota.

Job Related Skills

Essential criteria
  • Advanced keyboard skills with a high degree of accuracy for data input. Fluent user of Microsoft packages.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English to a wide range of people.
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to use Royal Marsden Epic system
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology (ideally within a cancer setting)

Attainments

Essential criteria
  • Good general education (GCSE or equivalent)
  • Good working knowledge of PC applications and computer literate
Desirable criteria
  • Customer Care course / training
  • AMSPAR or equivalent medical terminology qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Substantial previous reception or customer services experience in a high-performing environment
  • Ability to make decisions, organize and prioritise workload in light of unexpected events or changing priorities using own initiative.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information without compromising confidentiality or trust
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a hospital or healthcare environment
  • Experience of providing a private care service
  • Previous experience within a cancer setting
