Job overview

Principal Pharmacist - Education, Training and Development (Band 8b)

An exciting opportunity to lead, develop, deliver, evaluate and improve Education, Training  and Development within the department, alongside associated performance / outcomes within the Pharmacy Department at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust (CHS). The post-holder will provide a co-ordinated, highly effective training service for the pharmacy department and other areas within the Trust.

The post holder will also be responsible for leading and managing the Education and Training Team to deliver, develop and evaluate a co-ordinated, highly effective training service for the pharmacy department and other areas within the Trust. 

The postholder will work closely with Brighton University, supporting their undergraduate training programme

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide strategic leadership to training programs in Pharmacy, to ensure they are in line with Department of Health, NHS England and the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) requirements, along with leading, developing and implementing changes in the Foundation Training programme, rotational pharmacist program (including the PGDip in Clinical Pharmacy Practice) and 
pre-registration trainee pharmacy technician programme.

They will be responsible for the provision of  professional leadership and advice on all Pharmacy training and development issues and the 
preparation of strategic plans for Pharmacy training and development.

They will work closely with Brighton University to support the undergraduate training programme.
