We are excited here in Hillingdon to have a full time vacancy for a manger of ourThe Health Place Base of safety ( HPBoS) and also the Light house lounge which is part of the Hillingdon hospital care for patients who have mental health difficulties while in Hillingdon hospital's Emergency Department. The HPBoS is one of the busiest in the whole of London and was opened freshly in July 2023.
We are looking for a enthusiastic manager to join our team. A mental health nurse with experience of working as part of a team , with good knowledge of the mental health act and care processes.
Main duties of the job
Managing a small team of Band 6 patient flow manager and Health Care support staff.
Providing guidance, supervision and appraisal of the team members.
Providing the day to day running of a new Health Place Base of Safety and Light House
Liaising with other service such as police and General hospital to facilitate safe transferrer of care between service.
Ensure that the teams KPI are completed and patient feedback is collected.
Monitoring complaints and compliments.
Ensuring that the suite and lounge offers quality facility for the ongoing assessment of its clients and the support of their carers.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Manager of a busy, three roomed HPBoS in Hillingdon. To manage the team of Band 6 and HCA who look after patient brought to the unit under section 136 or section 135 of the mental health act. Also to manage nursing team and working closely with CNWL Liaison services and the Acute services in Hillingdon hospital.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse (Mental Health).
- 998 Mentorship / Slice
- Evidence of post registration Management Education
Desirable criteria
- Post registration qualification appropriate to speciality
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- Significant post registration experience
- Minimum 2 month experience at Band 6 within Adult Acute Mental Health service.
- Keeping accurate records.
- Practical experience of providing high quality care and exceeding expectations.
- Experience in providing and receiving supervision
- Experience of conducting risk assessments on mental health patients and ward environments.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of basic counselling and group work.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES
Essential criteria
- Leadership skills (motivating, using initiative, change management).
- People Management Skills.
- Clinical Governance and Evidence Based Practice
- Demonstrate an understanding of the multidisciplinary team concept and factors that affect good team working in an integrated mental health service
- Ability to work with different agencies and service providers, and form positive working relationships with a range of professionals
- Can demonstrate a good working knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983.
Desirable criteria
- Able to use basic computer software packages such as MS Word and Excel
- Skills in Cognitive behavioural therapy techniques

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
