Then look no further as an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sexual Health Advisor-Team Lead within Sexual Health South West London. This is a part time position for on a fixed term 12 month contract to cover a career break.
Main duties of the job
You will be able to provide advanced sexual health advice, information, education, and counselling to patients diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infections including HIV, providing effective partner notification for STI's and HIV to fulfil a public health role by encouraging the attendance and treatment of the contacts of patients.
You will work as an autonomous practitioner, support and manage a small health advising team , offer counselling support and behavioural change interventions which include risk assessment and complex case management of patients.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse with current UK NMC registration (Adult) first level
- CQSW qualification or Relevant Public Health Qualification to MSC degree level
- To work under Patient Group Directives/Patient Specific Direction
- Contraception and sexual health qualification or relevant courses (e.g., BASHH STI foundation intermediate competency)
- ENB 998 or equivalent training/mentoring certificate
Desirable criteria
- Psychosexual counselling
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience of providing care and treatment to patients with sexual health needs at an advanced level.
- Experience of health promotion and education
- Experience in Partner Notification
- Evidence of utilising Evidence –based Practice.
- Evidence of working with staff from different professional disciplines
- Experience of working with high risk, hard to reach groups.
- Experience of managing/coordinating teams
Desirable criteria
- Management training
- Publication in a relevant field.
- Evidence of local resolution of complaints
Skills
Essential criteria
- Higher level of clinical skills in the assessment, treatment and management of patients attending with sexual health needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain clear, accurate and concise records.
- Good computer skills
