Trosolwg o'r swydd

The Senior Dual Diagnosis role will lead on and support the mental health liaison team in providing specialist advice, interventions and education to patients presenting to the Royal London Hospital with drug and alcohol related problems.  There will be an interface with local drug and alcohol services including the acute hospital alcohol team. There will be an expectation to provide teaching to staff in the mental health team and acute Trust to improve care and support for this patient group

  • Will provide line management and leadership to the band 6 Dual Diagnosis Nurse
  • Will act as the lead for dual diagnosis for staff in the service to ensure core interventions are recovery focused, integrated, and delivered to the highest standard.
  • Will provide highly specialised advice and support to the Royal London Hospital Acute Alcohol Team on mental health management and onward referral

Qualifications

Meini prawf hanfodol
  • Masters degree (or equivalent) in relevant area
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Current Professional Registration
  • ENB 998 or equivalent or willing to undertake
  • Recognised post graduate qualifications in a specialist area of substance misuse and mental health
  • Evidence of continual professional development

Experience

Meini prawf hanfodol
  • Substantial experience in effective delivering a wide range of substance misuse, mental health, and social interventions
  • Previous substantial experience at working at senior level
  • Previous experience of working in an acute hospital emergency department
  • Demonstrable experience of supervising staff
  • Extensive and demonstrable experience of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care, particularly in an acute care or older adult community setting
  • Demonstrable experience of writing concise and clear clinical reports
  • Experience of developing or contributing to the development of new services preferably in mental health

Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to understand (and explain to others) of the highly complex issues effecting people who experience substance misuse and mental health issues
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the expectations, pressures and demands of an acute inner city hospital, wards and Registered care homes
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of current legislation and policy pertaining to the provision of mental health services in all settings including the Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Capacity Act 2005, NHS and Community Care Act 1990, Human Rights Act 1998
  • Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with colleagues from a range of different professional backgrounds and across
